ASSAF GROUP Consultancy Services (ASSAF) was appointed as the Design Consultant for the redevelopment and adaptive reuse of the Center for Economic & Social Development in Cairo. The project aimed to modernize the facility, optimize its functional spaces, and transform it into a dynamic hub for research, training, and community-focused activities, supporting economic and social initiatives across the region.

Challenge

The existing building required redevelopment to support evolving economic and social programs while operating within the limitations of an existing structure. The challenge was to modernize the facility, improve spatial efficiency, and upgrade technical systems without compromising the building’s identity or disrupting its functional continuity.

Solution

ASSAF Group delivered an integrated adaptive reuse strategy that reconfigured internal spaces, strengthened structural systems, and introduced modern electromechanical solutions.
