ASSAF GROUP Consultancy Services (ASSAF) was appointed as the Design Consultant for the redevelopment and adaptive reuse of the Center for Economic & Social Development in Cairo. The project aimed to modernize the facility, optimize its functional spaces, and transform it into a dynamic hub for research, training, and community-focused activities, supporting economic and social initiatives across the region.
ASSAF provided integrated architectural, structural, and electromechanical design consultancy services, ensuring the center’s redevelopment met modern standards and functional requirements
The existing building required redevelopment to support evolving economic and social programs while operating within the limitations of an existing structure. The challenge was to modernize the facility, improve spatial efficiency, and upgrade technical systems without compromising the building’s identity or disrupting its functional continuity.
ASSAF Group delivered an integrated adaptive reuse strategy that reconfigured internal spaces, strengthened structural systems, and introduced modern electromechanical solutions. The design transformed the center into a flexible, future-ready hub for research, training, and collaboration, aligning architectural performance with long-term economic and social development goals.

AssaFranco Consultancy Services (ASSAF) was appointed as the Design Consultant and Construction Supervisor for the Dar El Salam Youth Center in Cairo. The project aimed to create a modern, multifunctional facility that serves as a hub for youth development, social activities, and community engagement. The center was designed to foster educational, recreational, and cultural opportunities, promoting social cohesion and active participation among local youth.
ASSAF delivered comprehensive consultancy services, covering architectural, structural, and electromechanical design, as well as full construction supervision.
The primary challenge was to design a highly functional youth facility capable of accommodating diverse activities while ensuring long-term durability, accessibility, and efficient operation. The project required careful coordination between architectural, structural, and electromechanical systems to meet public safety standards and community needs within a limited urban footprint.

Urban Development Planning Project
ASSAF GROUP Consultancy Services (ASSAF) was appointed by the General Authority for Urban Planning as the Planning Consultant for the urban development planning of Tor Sinai, the capital city of South Sinai Governorate. The project aimed to establish a comprehensive planning framework to support sustainable urban growth while respecting the city’s strategic, environmental, and socio-economic characteristics.
ASSAF is providing fully integrated multidisciplinary consultancy services.
Tor Sinai faces unique planning challenges due to its sensitive coastal environment, limited developable land, and the need to balance administrative, residential, and tourism-related growth. The main challenge was to organize future urban expansion in a controlled manner while preserving natural resources and ensuring efficient service distribution for a growing population.
ASSAF delivered a structured urban development plan that defines clear land-use regulations, supports infrastructure and public service planning, and enhances connectivity across the city. Completed in 2009, the project established a practical roadmap for sustainable urban growth and informed decision-making, reinforcing ASSAF’s expertise in large-scale urban and regional planning across Egypt.
