We were honored to take part in the International Restoration Week organized by the Saudi Heritage Authority—an inspiring platform where heritage meets innovation, and where architecture becomes a living language that preserves identity while embracing the future.
The event brought together experts, architects, researchers, and cultural leaders from across the region and beyond to discuss the importance of safeguarding architectural heritage and integrating it thoughtfully into contemporary design practices.
During the event, Dr. Ahmed Assaf, CEO of Assaf Group, delivered a lecture highlighting the vital role of architecture in bridging cultural continuity with modern expression. His presentation explored how thoughtful design can respect historical context while responding to the evolving needs of today’s societies.
Dr. Assaf emphasized that restoration is not merely about preserving buildings, but about protecting the stories, values, and collective memory embedded within them. He discussed real-world examples that demonstrate how adaptive reuse, sensitive restoration, and innovative design strategies can revive heritage sites and transform them into active cultural and economic assets.
Participation in International Restoration Week reflects our commitment to architectural excellence, cultural responsibility, and sustainable development. We believe that when heritage is respected and innovation is guided by identity, architecture becomes more than structure—it becomes a bridge between past, present, and future.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Saudi Heritage Authority for organizing this meaningful initiative and creating a platform that celebrates heritage as a foundation for innovation and progress.
